hello 09,
glad you’re here. 08 was odd. We still had violence, be it Mumbai, or Gaza, or Iraq or Afghanistan. We still had natural calamities like the floods in Bihar.
But in some respects, it was a year that set precedence for years to come. A black man came to power in the most powerful office of governance in the World; and we learned that to make money, you should probably develop real goods and services, engineer real products, rather than engineering “financial instruments” (read as over-exuberant, accepted-as-acceptable form of fraud).
08 was in retrospect, a year in transition, a year between two Worlds, one dying, the other waiting to be born.
Not really in the writing flow yet, so I’ll stop here for now.
What we do with you, 09, is up to us, then. Let’s make the most of it
