Letter from Pixar on persistence.

Work has always been a matter of immense frustration for me — it’s not a matter of not enjoying it, but rather a constant urge and drive for wanting it to be absolutely perfect. Not the kind of perfection that takes forever, but the best it can possibly be within the time given to us.

I think I’ve always had the raw, brute-force intellect to create interesting spaces, this last year has really been about stringing that thought into elegant, simple, extremely usable stuff.

The last few months have been especially good to me at work, lots of people – internal, clients, new business prospects – praising the quality of the thinking and the simplicity of thought.

Even then I know I could’ve done it a bit better, but I’ll take that. :)
